Hal Gessner - Mediator

Hal Gessner is a certified mediator and conflict coach practicing in the areas of Business and Community disputes, Employer / Employee conflict, Intellectual Property, Family Mediation (eldercare, trusts and estates), Surrogate Court Mediation (wills and estates), and Media and Entertainment.

He is on the Executive Board of the New York Peace Institute where he is a mentor and a coach teaching mediation classes in their advanced apprenticeship program. He also teaches conflict de-escalation classes in the NYPD NCO (Neighborhood Coordination Officer) training program. In addition, Mr. Gessner is a mediator in the Americans with Disabilities Act pilot program for the Southern District of New York.

Before becoming a mediator, Mr. Gessner worked for 35 years in the network news and entertainment business as producer and executive producer for CBS and ABC. He is the recipient of four national Emmys, a Peabody Award, an Investigators Reporters and Editors Award, and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
